Induction cooker error codes E1 E6 E7 E8 E9 Nepal fix guide

Induction cooker error codes appear on the LED display when the stove detects a problem. Most error codes in Nepal are caused by wrong cookware, low voltage, or overheating — all fixable in under 2 minutes. This guide covers every error code for Baltra, Prestige, Philips, CG, Bajaj, Pigeon, and Yasuda models sold in Nepal.

Universal Error Codes — All Brands

E0 or E1 — No Cookware Detected

What it means: The induction sensor cannot detect magnetic cookware on the cooking zone.

Causes:

  • No pot placed on the stove
  • Non-magnetic cookware (aluminum, copper, clay) placed on zone
  • Very small-base cookware placed off-center

Fix:

  • Remove whatever is on the stove
  • Test your cookware with a fridge magnet — if it sticks firmly to the base, it’s compatible
  • Place the pot centered on the cooking zone (the coil ring marked on the glass)
  • Ensure base diameter is at least 12cm — most stoves don’t detect tiny pots

  • E2 — Temperature Sensor Error

What it means: Internal temperature sensor is reading out of range.

    Fix:

  • Switch off the stove
  • Unplug from wall socket
  • Wait 10 minutes (let coil and sensor cool)
  • Plug back in and restart
  • If error persists → contact brand service center

  • E3 — IGBT/Circuit Temperature Too High

What it means: The internal power transistor (IGBT) has overheated — this controls the electromagnetic field.

    Causes:

    • Ventilation blocked (stove placed against a wall, or on a soft surface)
    • Continuous high-power cooking for 2+ hours without a break

    Fix:

  • Switch off immediately
  • Check underside/rear ventilation grills — ensure they’re unobstructed and clear of dust
  • Allow 10–15 minutes of cooling
  • Clean ventilation grill with a soft brush
  • Restart — if error returns within minutes, professional service required

  • E6 — Overheating / Cooking Surface Too Hot

What it means: The glass surface thermistor has detected temperature above safe limit (usually above 280°C).

    Causes:

    • Empty pot left on maximum power
    • Prolonged high-heat cooking dried food stuck on base radiating back heat
    • Frying oil overheated without food in pan

    Fix:

  • Remove the cookware immediately
  • Allow cooktop to cool at room temperature — 10 to 15 minutes
  • Do not restart immediately — let E6 clear automatically once temperature drops
  • Wipe off any residue from the cooking zone

  • E7 — Input Voltage Too Low

What it means: The stove is receiving less than 180V from the wall socket — below safe operating range.

Common in Nepal: Hill district load-shedding, evening peak hours, rural connections with long cable runs.

    Fix:

  • Check the voltage with a voltage tester or ask neighbors if their appliances are running normally
  • Wait for grid voltage to stabilize (usually resolves within 30–60 minutes)
  • Do NOT try to force the stove on during low voltage — this can damage the IGBT
  • Consider a voltage stabilizer (AVR) if you experience E7 frequently: a 3KVA AVR costs रु. 3,000–5,000 and protects all household appliances

  • E8 — Input Voltage Too High

What it means: Voltage exceeding 260V is entering the stove.

Causes in Nepal: Rare — can happen during grid faults or after major load-shedding ends (voltage surge).

    Fix:

  • Switch off immediately
  • Wait 5 minutes before restarting
  • Check if other appliances are affected — if yes, contact NEA
  • A voltage stabilizer prevents both E7 and E8 damage

  • E9 — Temperature Sensor Short / Internal Fault

What it means: The internal temperature sensor has faulted — often due to physical moisture or manufacturing defect.

    Fix:

  • Unplug for 30 minutes — allows any condensation to clear
  • Restart — if E9 appears immediately, this requires service center repair
  • Under warranty: contact brand service directly — this is covered under 1-year standard warranty

  • Brand-Specific Error Codes

    Baltra Induction Error Codes

Baltra models (BIC-122, BIC-152, BIC-135) use the universal E1–E9 system. Most common error in Nepal: E0/E1 (wrong cookware).

    Prestige Induction Error Codes

Prestige models (PIC 6.1 V3, PIC 29.0) display E1 for no-pan and E6 for overtemp. The PIC 6.1 V3 also shows “–“ (dashes) when in standby — this is not an error.

    Philips Induction Error Codes

Philips HD4928 and HD4911 display error codes as “E” + number. Philips also shows individual error descriptions in the manual. Most distinguishing: Philips shows E4 for coil fault (rare).

    CG Induction Error Codes

CG models may show EC (error code) prefix rather than just “E”. CG’s Nepal service line: 01-XXXXXXX (contact CG Digital local office).

    Bajaj Induction Error Codes

Bajaj (ICX 200FP, ICX 190TS, Majesty Slim) uses standard E1–E9 + F codes for fan fault. F1 on Bajaj = cooling fan failure → requires service.

When to Call the Service Center

Call your brand’s authorized Nepal service center if:

    • ✅ E3 returns within 5 minutes of a cool-down restart
    • ✅ Stove powers on but doesn’t heat (no error shown)
    • ✅ Glass panel is cracked or damaged
